Pacers wing Evan Turner made a good point during his brief session with the media after this afternoon’s practice. If two large men like Turner and Lance Stephenson threw punches at each other, one of them would have left a mark.
The Pacers spent a good deal of time answering questions about the fight reported by ESPN and Sports Illustrated among other sources, and either they were well coached to sing from the same hymnal, or whatever happened Friday afternoon was not a big deal.
All said that disputes like what happened Friday are common at every level of basketball, and likely everywhere competitive people collide.
Stephenson claimed to like Turner, Turner made no mention of ill will toward Stephenson, and all agreed the story is irrelevant to the success or failure of the team.
At the very least, the report of the fight gave the media something other than adjustments to the rotation to ask the players and coach Frank Vogel about.
