This well-intended homage to Paterno is now nothing more that a tribute to cowardice. Doing the right thing because it’s the right thing is possible, but it won’t happen here unless there is a rogue intervention. Maybe a group of outraged students borrow a tow truck, hook a chain to the statue, and hit the gas. It would be interesting to see if the trustees would have the stones to put it back up.
