You know, there is something that I really don’t understand. We are currently well over half of Miller’s second year at IU, and you are accepting that it will take at least 4 or 5 more years of “re-building” to return the IU team to prominence. This is after an off season where this team was projected to re-emerge as NCAA contenders. I don’t know of any IU fan would be happy with what you suggest. I know that I am not happy with what you suggest.

IU has invested millions to revitalized Assembly Hall and all of the other associated sports venues. Archie Miller is in the top 10 of salaried coaches. He currently receives more salary than Roy Williams at UNC. He receives more salary than Bob Knight ever dreamed of.

My expectations are not low based upon the investment already made by the University and taxpayers of Indiana. May I suggest that the university administration withdraw IU from the Big Ten in favor of the Big East or Atlantic 10. These are two conferences where the administration and coaching staff of IU may fit in quite nicely. Conferences where our leaders and coaches may be successful.

Just a couple of quick corrections. Indiana taxpayers do not fund IU Athletics, and did not pay for the upgrades to Assembly Hall – as evidenced by the “Simon-Skjodt” in front of Assembly Hall. One other thing – it will not take “at least four or five more years”. It will take four-five years total.
