I haven’t really been following he NBA these last two seasons because they’ve both been f*cking ridiculous. Bubble hoop? Play-ins? Rampant injuries? Desperate schedules strictly for profits? There has been no soul in hoop for a while now. I figure, eventually, probably next season, we can get back to normalcy and maybe I’ll get back on that NBA grind but this sh*t with Rachel Nichols? Man, I had to say something. It’s wild to me that Rachel Nichols is getting sh*t on for that mess she said about Maria Taylor. It’s f*cking true. What was the environment in which the NBAFinals took place last year? Plague. Bubble. Police Brutality. Floyd. Protests. Election. mini Civil Rights Movement. An undercurrent of straight up white supremacy clashing with the indignation of Black people demanding not to be murdered for just existing. ESPN is owned by Disney so of course they trotted out their Black to smooth over all the animosity and vitriol. They needed more Black faces, front and center, to keep pulling in then Black dollars. I’m more than certain the NBA had a hand in that, too, as half the f*cking league opted not to even play. Because of the plague. When big name stars like Kyrie Irving are saying throw the whole season away, well, those billionaire team owners start to get their jimmies rustled because the people who look like Kyrie, listen to Kyrie. Of course the NBA and ESPN “chose” to put Taylor on the sidelines. It was a mutually beneficial dog whistle for both multi-national conglomerates to secure the bag. Now, i say that knowing how explosive it is. I’m sure Maria Taylor is brilliant at her job, I’m not trying to say otherwise, and deserved to get that call. I’m not familiar with her work but i can tell you for a fact, with all the confidence of Narcissus, himself, that she was trotted out on executive order as a negro prop Disney could use to bojangle on their network during a time when being Black was super f*cking profitable.
